A Peek Inside The Shop

Join me for a peek into some of the eclectic mix of things that can be found in The Shop.  Our motto is "Refresh, Restore, Re-Buy, Reuse," and all of the following are pieces that have been upcycled into "Rough Luxe" pieces using these methods.  Everything in The Shop is repurposed into a luxurious piece right here in my shop from things that came from someone's ancestors, and can be enjoyed again, in their professionally upfitted style!

The above cabinet was just recently completed my Marcia, here in The Shop.  It originally was a cabinet within the Castle at Sedgefield Country Club that was headed for the curb.  I wish I had a before picture to share with you, because it looked nothing like this -- it was a dirty cream color with mint green trim, and it now has renewed charm and purpose!

This is a coordinating mantel, also recently refurbished by Marcia at The Shop!  This photo does not do it justice.  It is a statement piece that would make a wonderful addition to a fireplace in need of a facelift.

In addition to much more home furnishings, we also have a large selection of jewelry, much of it being estate pieces.  In fact, I just obtained an entire standing jewelry chest full of jewelry that will be hitting the shelves this week!  Come in and see our latest treasures!

What awesome rattan chairs are these?  These would make a great welcoming addition to a covered front porch, or anywhere inside where an extra seat is needed.

The mirrors on the far left wall are beautiful, with floral etching on one edge that is stunning.  These are mid-century pieces that would be right at home in a number of interior areas -- living room, hall way, bedroom, bathroom, or anywhere a reflective surface would enhance your surroundings.

This cream-colored buffet is a gorgeous piece, with gold leaf trim, and plenty of storage interiorly.

These Christmas ornaments are handcrafted locally by Joe Schrader using domestic wood.  He "uses what nature has given [him] to produce a finished, one of a kind, work of art" with a timeless feel that would make a beautiful to your tree, or a great gift for someone special!

These are signs, as well as the following wooden bowls, are also made by Mr. Schrader.  These pieces have just arrived at the shop, and are receiving lots of interest.

So these are just a few things we currently have in The Shop.  We hope you will visit us and see all the other treasures we have.  There are many things that could be used in your home, as well as many items that would make great Christmas Gifts.  Hope to see you real soon!

Beverly's Down the HIll

I am the owner of a small vintage, antique shop in Jamestown North Carolina, called "Beverly's Down the Hill."  Jamestown is nestled between to bigger cities, Greensboro, and High Point.  High Point, NC is known as the "Furniture Capital of the World"  Twice a year thousands of people from all over the world travel here to buy furniture for there stores.  At one time North Carolina was one of biggest furniture manufacture in the United States.  Now, most of the furniture you buy comes from China, and other foreign countries, leaving North Carolina out of the picture and lost jobs.  That is why it is important for my small store to carry local, or made in the USA furniture and decor.  We love going to estate sales, yard sales, flea markets and thrift stores to resell.  Marcia Joyce, my assistant is a very sharp talented gal, she not only paints furniture, faux finishes, venetian plaster,  but is quick to decorate a store or home in just a day.  We love to find old discarded furniture and give it a new life with a fresh coat of paint.  If you are ever in the area please seek us out!  We have just a little bit of everything for your home or office.
